The Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) are all set to welcome back Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Two-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings and 2008 champions Rajasthan Royals were suspended from the IPL for two seasons – 2016 & 2017 – by the Supreme Court following the spot-fixing scandal that erupted in 2013.

Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful IPL franchises and they have a massive fan base across India, specially in southern part of the country. It is being reported that CSK are planning a grand return to IPL next year and they will look to get their captain back MS Dhoni from Pune.

A source close to Chennai Super Kings revealed that MS Dhoni, the former skipper at Rising Pune Supergiant, who hasn’t been able to do all that well for Pune in IPL 2017 so far, will go back to the Super Kings. Dhoni led CSK for eight long years.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals are in talks with a leading corporate that has interest in IPL, and they are planning to sell their stakes. This means we could possibly see new Rajasthan Royals owner in the next edition of Indian Premier League.
